The Amateur Radio Emergency Service - Mission

In the United States, Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) is a corps of trained amateur
radio operator volunteers organized since the 1930s to assist in public service and
emergency communications. It is organized and sponsored by the American Radio Relay League.

We meet the third Monday of every month at 19.00 (7.00 PM) US ET

Expectations Of ARES Team Members
  • Perform in volunteer roles with the skills, mindset, and proficiency of a professional
  • Commit To Public Service that includes Emergency Communications
  • Collaborate with partner organizations relying on our services
  • Agree to perform within FEMA, State, and County Emergency Service protocols
  • Work toward obtaining Auxilary Communications (AuxComm) training and certification
